The history of the farmhouse oven and the production process

Open book Farmer's Oven

“The history of the Boerenoven and the production process” is about the history of the brick factory on Spoorstraat in Tienray.

In the last century, there were two brick factories in Tienray: the firm Van Daal en Compagnon, a brick factory located on Swolgenseweg from 1914 to 1978, and the limited liability company Stoomsteenfabriek Tienray, located on Spoorstraat. Both factories, like the station, provided significant employment and, together with the status of “Little Lourdes,” left their mark on the village. The factory was popularly known as “The Farmer’s Oven,” because some of the founders owned an agricultural business.
