During the printing and binding process, as well as afterwards during transport and storage, the paper can adapt slightly to the environment. As a result, slight warping or wrinkling of pages can sometimes occur.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This phenomenon is known in the printing industry as waviness and occurs in both digital and offset printing. In most cases, it is subtle and does not affect the readability, durability, or quality of the book. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><strong>Why can this happen?<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the printing process, paper is exposed to ink, pressure, and heat. As a result, paper fibers can temporarily expand or contract. When the paper subsequently stabilizes again, a slight waviness may remain visible.  <br\/><br\/>The following factors can also influence the degree of waviness:<strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the natural properties of paper fibers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the relationship between ink coverage and paper type<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>differences in humidity between production, transport, and storage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><strong>What is considered normal?<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A slight degree of warping in pages is considered a normal material property of paper within the graphic industry. As long as the book opens properly, remains legible, and the workmanship of the book is intact, this is not considered a manufacturing defect. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Important to know<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because \u2018paper warping\u2019 is related to the natural properties of paper and environmental factors, slight warping cannot be completely ruled out and does not constitute grounds for reprinting or a complaint. Naturally, we make every effort to keep the production process as stable as possible by using high-quality materials and controlled production conditions. <br\/><br\/>The climatic conditions in our production are constant. We work with an ambient temperature of 20 degrees and a humidity of 55%. <br\/>Outdoor conditions often vary widely. This can range from temperatures below zero to temperatures well above 30 degrees.
